binse

Binse · V2026.9.16.3 · Windows · Mac · iPad

Shape your data.
Then bring it to life.

Binse brings workflow building, dashboard design and diagramming together in three canvases, in one desktop app for Windows and Mac, and two of them come to iPad as apps of their own. With 110 tools in the palette, 362 visual types in the gallery and 6,161 shapes on the drawing board, you can build all three without writing a line of code.

No coding. No deployment. No waiting.

01 · Data Flow

Pick up a tool. Drop it anywhere.

Start in the Data Flow workspace. Pick a tool, drop it onto your workflow, and connect the steps together. Clean, amend, enrich and transform your data, add formulas and calculations, and watch the results update as your workflow runs in seconds.

A sample of the workflow canvas, with twelve tools and two small sample files, worked out in your browser as you go. The app runs every tool over your own files and databases, and put sixty million rows through five tools in eighteen to twenty-three seconds on a laptop.

Wire it wrong and it says so

Every tool checks the fields reaching it before a single row is read. Name a field that is not there and the tool tells you, on the tool, in words.

Filter keeps both halves

The rows that pass leave by the T port and the rest leave by the F port. Nothing is dropped quietly, so the two always add back up to what came in.

The palette is the language

110 tools in 12 categories, from joins and summaries to spatial, text and predictive work. The sample above carries twelve of them.

02 · Dashboards

Click one bar. The whole page answers.

Then take that finished output straight into the Dashboards workspace. Choose from a wide range of visuals, drop one onto the page, connect it to your data, and watch your dashboard come to life. Click any bar, slice or point and every other visual filters to it.

A sample of the dashboard canvas, with ten visual types over one small sample file, summed in your browser as you click. The app carries 362 visual types in 17 categories over your own data, and the gallery shows them.

Every visual, one grid

Drag a visual by its handle to move it and press the arrows to change its width. The page is a grid, so things line up because they cannot do anything else.

Cross-filtering is the default

Nothing to configure and no relationships to draw first. Click a mark and the page follows it. The visual you clicked keeps its shape, so you can still see the whole against the part.

One file, no install

A finished page exports as a single HTML file with the data inside it. Send it to somebody. They open it, click through it, and need nothing installed at all.

03 · Diagrams

Start from a template. Drag anything.

The third canvas draws the picture. Flowcharts, org charts, network maps, floor plans, mind maps and processes, with connectors that stay glued to the shapes they join and find their own way around whatever is in between.

A sample of the diagram canvas. Each template here was read out of the file the app ships and cut down to what a browser tab can draw: the outlines, the labels, the connectors. Switch between them, then drag a shape and watch the connectors redraw. The app carries 98 templates in 24 categories and 6,161 shapes in 74 libraries, with 111,893 icons beside them.

Connectors that stay put

Join two shapes and the line belongs to both of them. Move either one and it reroutes around whatever is in the way, rather than cutting through it.

Diagrams drawn from your data

Point it at a database connection for an entity diagram, or send a Data Flow workflow across to see what feeds what. A shape can read a number and change colour when it moves.

It reads what you already have

38 formats in and 32 out, so the drawings on the shared drive open here and leave again in whatever the person on the other end needs.

And the drawing that is not software at all

  • Floor plans at real scale, and site plans
  • Engineering: P&ID to ISA 5.1 and ISO 10628
  • Electrical and electronic to IEC 60617 and ANSI/IEEE 315
  • Power one-line, ladder logic to IEC 61131-3, and logic gates
  • Building services: plumbing and drainage, heating and ventilation
  • Safety and emergency planning: evacuation plans, fire pre-plans, accident reconstruction
  • Business: org charts, customer journeys, timelines and roadmaps, planning boards

04 · On iPad

Two of the canvases, made for iPad.

Dashboards and Diagrams also come as iPad apps of their own, from the App Store. Made for a finger and Apple Pencil, they work offline and keep your work in your own files.

binse: Data Analytics

From raw data to an interactive dashboard and a presentation, on an iPad.

  • Tidy it with Prep: 44 steps to clean, join, reshape and summarise, found by typing.
  • Build the dashboard by touch, from 363 visual types, upright or in landscape.
  • Tap any value and every chart on the page filters to it.
  • Present it, with text pages, speaker notes on the iPad and the slides on a second screen.
  • Learn it on practice data: a guided first run through a small chain of coffee shops.

Coming soon €49.99 a year, on the App Store.

About binse: Data Analytics

The dashboard builder in landscape: the visuals and the coffee sales fields on the left, a coffee shops dashboard in the middle, and the settings of its Revenue by shop bar chart on the right. The finished coffee shops dashboard in landscape: revenue, cups sold, average sale and sales figures along the top, revenue by month and by category, revenue by shop and a table by city. A Prep flow in landscape: the coffee sales table, a change of type, a Keep rows step open for editing and a join, with the 393 rows after the step on the right.
Build it, view it, tidy it. The dashboard builder, the finished dashboard and a Prep flow.

binse: Diagrams & Floor Plans

Floor plans to scale, flowcharts, diagrams of every kind and a whiteboard, by finger or Apple Pencil.

  • Floor plans that measure themselves: walls that join, doors and windows that sit in them, and room areas worked out as you draw.
  • 220 templates to start from, and 10,374 shapes in 190 libraries.
  • Connectors that stay glued to the shapes they join, and find their own way around.
  • Open and send on in 39 formats in and 32 out.

Coming soon €29.99 a year, on the App Store.

About binse: Diagrams & Floor Plans

Pinch in, pinch out. A café's seating plan, from the whole floor to the counter.

The iPad apps are bought on their own, and are not part of the Binse licence. Every price.

05 · What is in the box

Three canvases. One install. One licence.

Everyone else sells you the desktop half and then charges for the half that runs while you are asleep. Binse is both halves, in one installer, for one price.

01

Data Flow

Flow canvas · 12 categories

110 tools on a canvas that checks every schema and every tool's configuration as you type, without reading any data. A full plan pass over a sixty-million-row workflow took about eighteen milliseconds, because planning and running are separate passes and the plan opens a file for its header and stops there.

The formula language is one implementation, 76 functions, used wherever you write a calculation. The dashboard designer's formula box is a different implementation of the same language, not the same engine.

02

Dashboards

362 visual types · 17 categories

Click a bar and every other visual on the page filters. The gallery behind it is 362 built-in types in 17 categories, counted from the live registry. Then export the whole thing, data and visuals and interactivity together, as a single HTML file that opens on a locked-down laptop with no install and no server. It contacts no third party, and no host except the one the file was opened from.

The person you send it to needs no licence, no account and no seat, because there is nothing to sign in to.

03

Diagrams

6,161 shapes · 74 libraries

A drawing board for the pictures the other two canvases cannot draw: flowcharts, org charts, network and cloud maps, floor plans, mind maps and processes. Start from one of 98 templates or from nothing. Connectors glue themselves to the shapes they join, route around what is in between, and 19 layouts tidy the whole page when it gets away from you.

A diagram can read your data as well as describe it: an entity diagram drawn from a database connection, a picture of what a workflow feeds, or a shape that changes colour with the number behind it.

Scheduled runs

In Binse and Binse Enterprise

Save a workflow and set it to run on its own, through the scheduler your computer already ships: Task Scheduler on Windows, a login item on a Mac. No service, no daemon, no stored password, no administrator rights, and nothing new for an IT department to approve.

Runs happen only while you are signed in. A locked screen is fine. Signing out stops everything, and the app says so on its own screen.

06 · Two editions

Binse for you. Binse Enterprise for everyone you work with.

Binse is everything on this page so far. Binse Enterprise is for organisations. It adds AI inside the app, dashboards published for everyone who needs them, and a way to ask your data warehouse questions.

Binse Enterprise

In development

For organisations that share data, dashboards and answers.

Price to follow

  • Everything in Binse, plus:
  • AI built in. Describe what you want and Binse builds the first draft of the workflow, the dashboard or the query. Ask why a number moved and get the reasons in words.
  • Draw it together. Several people on one diagram at once, with comments on the shapes and a version history you can step back through.
  • Publish to your whole organisation. One click and a dashboard is live for everyone who needs it, in a browser, with nothing to install.
  • Explore your warehouse. Tick the fields, press Run, get the answer. Measures are defined once, so every report agrees on what revenue means.
  • Alerts that come to you. Set a threshold and hear about it the moment a number crosses it.
  • Dashboards in your inbox. A fresh copy lands every Monday morning, or whenever you choose.
  • Talk about the numbers where they live. Comments and @mentions on the dashboard itself.
  • On your phone. Published dashboards fit the screen they are opened on.
  • Sign in with your work account. Everyone works as themselves, and your own access rules decide what each person can see.
  • See what gets used. Which dashboards are opened, by how many people, and which ones nobody reads.

Planned for Binse Enterprise, on Windows. The list can change before it ships.
